What You Will Do:

Under direct supervision serves as a resource to the communication center staff. Responsible for day-to-day unit operations and performance including staffing, equipment and information systems support. Serves a s transfer coordinator, management resource and Maryland ExpressCare advocate.


Demonstrated ability to operate transmission equipment including 2-way radio, and Windows-based telephone system.


Ability to function in a rapidly changing work environment.


Evidence of a strong initiative and work ethic as a

Communication Center Coordinator as evidenced by error free documentation and excellent customer service skills as evidenced by review of recordings.


Ability to oversee, direct, monitor and evaluate the work performance of coordinators, assuring work quality, efficiency and effectiveness and that performance standards are met.


Excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills.


Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required to work with clinical management, administrative and other personnel from various hospital departments and to provide direction to Coordinators.


Demonstrated ability to operate within a database environment for entry and retrieval of demographic information, performance data and statistics.


Demonstrated ability to maintain awareness of departmental policies and procedures and follow the objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards of the department.


Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a stressful environment. Ability to handle confidential issues with integrity and discretion.


Professional phone manner with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as demonstrated listening skills is required.


Demonstrated ability to demonstrate effective customer service behaviors to all hospital staff and patients is required.


Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required to work with nursing staff, physicians, and other hospital personnel and patients.


Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and dignity.


What You Need to Be Successful:

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.


Two (2) years of experience in Maryland ExpressCare required.


CPR preferred.
